What is the purpose of topical finasteride?

Your Bondmeds-affiliated provider may suggest using topical finasteride on the scalp, combined with topical minoxidil and topical tretinoin as a compounded treatment for hair loss.

This compounded treatment is strictly for men and should not be used or handled by women or children.

Who should avoid using topical finasteride?

This treatment is specifically for men and should not be used or handled by women, especially those who are pregnant or trying to conceive. In animal studies, finasteride was linked to abnormal genital development in male fetuses.

How do I apply the topical treatment?

  • Step 1 : Apply the spray Target the areas of your scalp with hair loss, such as the crown or sides of a receding hairline. Use no more than 4 sprays, pressing the sprayer firmly each time.
  • Step 2 : Massage it in After spraying, gently massage the solution into the affected areas, keeping your head tilted back to prevent it from dripping down your face.
  • Step 3 : Clean up and wash your hands Wipe away any excess solution that may have run off, and wash your hands thoroughly afterward.
  • Step 4 : Allow it to dry Let the solution fully dry before using other hair products. If applying in the morning, avoid wetting your hair until later in the day. If applying at night, wash your hair the following morning.
